Picture if you will, the year was 1994 and the premium cigar boom of the 90s was starting to gain momentum. Lito Gomez and his wife Ines had a very successful jewelry business that catered to high-end clientele. To the shock of their families, they announced they were leaving the jewelry industry to pursue their passion of producing premium cigars in the Dominican Republic. It took them 2 full years to find their footing and launch the La Flor Dominicana brand, but an instant star was born. The couple has been on a roll and they haven’t looked back at the jewelry business since. What made and continues to make the La Flor brand special is that they are known for growing exceptional tobaccos in the Dominican Republic, and producing high quality cigars with outstanding flavor.

Litto Gomez was raised in the small South American country of Uruguay. La Volcada is a nod to one of its most significant cultural exports: the Tango. The cigar, like the Tango, is smooth yet powerful; it is characterized by a uniquely dark elegance in both its look and the intertwining of flavors created by its distinctive blend of fillers from our farm in the Dominican Republic held together by an Ecuadorian Corojo wrapper and adorned by a dark San Andreas wrapper.
