H. Upmann Legacy

In 1843, a German banker named Hermann Upmann moved to Havana, Cuba to open an import/export business for a German firm that bought and sold tobaccos. In 1844, he purchased a small local cigar factory, and soon after the first H. Upmann cigar was born. Hermann could never have imagined that his little endeavor would become one of the world’s best known cigar brands. He was known for his innovation in the tobacco business and is credited with being the first cigar maker to package his cigars in cedar boxes.

H. Upmann is a brand that has been around for longer then most. Legacy is a way to acknowledge that past while moving into new and exciting territories with the brand. Upmann has long provided cigar aficionados with a great everyday cigar that provides big flavor through each puff. The Legacy is no different in that regard but it does represent a big shift in strength and flavor profile for the brand. Using a dark Sumatran wrapper grown in Ecuador over a binder from Nicaragua and fillers from botbh Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. The Sumatran wrapper is both spicy and sweet with a smooth earthy core of flavors. Medium to full in body, this new H.
