Rocky Patel ALR Second Edition Robusto (5.5x52 / 5 Pack)

Rocky Patel A.L.R.—Aged, Limited, and Rare— showcases a small-batch approach to blending, aging, and tobacco selection. Handmade in Nicaragua and offered in a collection of classic sizes, A.L.R. represents a distinctive side of the Rocky Patel portfolio, combining select tobaccos with additional post-production aging before release.

The A.L.R. name stands for “Aged, Limited, and Rare,” reflecting the concept behind the series and its focus on select tobacco. Following the original A.L.R. release in 2018, this edition features a dark Mexican San Andrés wrapper surrounding a vintage blend of Nicaraguan long-filler tobaccos grown in Condega and Estelí. The combination brings together tobacco from two of Nicaragua's prominent growing regions beneath the naturally rich character of San Andrés wrapper leaf.

An important part of the A.L.R. concept is its aging. According to Rocky Patel, the finished cigars are matured for a minimum of two years before release, giving the tobaccos additional time to develop together. This extended aging distinguishes A.L.R. within the Rocky Patel portfolio and reinforces the “Aged” component of its name.

Generally medium to full-bodied, Rocky Patel A.L.R. offers tasting notes that may be reminiscent of dark chocolate, cocoa, nutmeg, black pepper, roasted coffee, earth, cedar, coconut-like sweetness, and fresh tobacco. Rich chocolate and earthy characteristics can be complemented by warm spice, pepper, and subtle sweetness as the cigar develops. Individual flavor, aroma, strength, construction, and overall smoking characteristics may vary by cigar and individual palate.

Adding significant recognition to the blend, Rocky Patel A.L.R. received a published 96-point rating from Cigar Aficionado and earned a Top 10 placement in the publication's 2023 Top 25 Cigars of the Year. Ratings, rankings, and reviews represent the opinions and criteria of their respective publications and should not be interpreted as guarantees of quality or individual experience.

For adult cigar enthusiasts drawn to Mexican San Andrés wrappers, Nicaraguan tobacco, extended aging, small-batch releases, and highly rated blends, Rocky Patel A.L.R. offers a compelling addition to the humidor. With its combination of select Condega and Estelí tobaccos, minimum two-year maturation, rich medium-to-full-bodied profile, and published 96-point rating, A.L.R. provides a distinctive expression of Rocky Patel's approach to aged premium cigars.
