The Foundation Olmec Claro was developed by Foundation Cigars founder and master blender Nick Melillo with inspiration drawn from Mexico’s San Andrés tobacco-growing region and the ancient Olmec civilization, which inhabited parts of the area between approximately 1600 and 400 BCE.
The cigar features a Mexican San Andrés Claro wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan filler tobaccos. Prior to rolling, the filler leaves undergo a bale-aging process of approximately three years before being incorporated into the blend. The Olmec name and presentation reflect the historical and cultural influences associated with the region where the wrapper tobacco is grown.
