The Oliva family of cigars may be one of the most popular brands of premium cigars in the US. But they didn’t get their start as a family of cigar makers. The Oliva Master Blends series was created as the brands first foray into super premium cigars. Since the Master Blends release, they’ve created additional premium offerings, but it was this blend that saw their first release that crossed the $10 barrier. It was a bold release for the company at the time and laid the foundation for their future blends. While the Serie V Melanio gets the lion’s share of attention these days, the Master Blend is definitely worth revisiting. Using a blend of the finest quality Nicaraguan filler and binder tobaccos along with a USA Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, this blend is simply delicious. It offers a pleasing palate of tasting notes that include flavors of cocoa, earth, and cream along with hints of pepper, brown sugar, and cedar. While the Oliva Master Blends series may have been around for a while, this exceptional blend is still a winner in our books.
