Cigar manufacturers love to celebrate milestones. We’re not sure if we’ve ever seen any other industry as smitten with celebrating anniversaries. This is not a bad thing by any stretch of the imagination, rather just an observation. Truthfully, these milestones drive most cigar companies to create some of their best work, and the Joya de Nicaragua Cinco Decadas is no exception. For over 5 decades (Cinco Decadas), Nicaragua’s oldest cigar factory has been making exceptional cigars that have garnered attention and praise from all over the world. To celebrate their 50 years of heritage and the bright future of JDN, the Joya de Nicaragua Cinco Decadas was created.

One of the first two shapes ever rolled at the Joya de Nicaragua cigar factory was the a Churchill. So, it was no surprise to see this shape in a line celebrating their half century of cigar making. A shape like this is not easy to produce well, but the artisan craftsmen at JDN have done a superb job. Joya is mum on the blend details except that all tobaccos used in this blend come from Nicaragua. Whatever they may be, they are well-aged, rich, and flavorful. The wrapper leaf is a dark and luscious looking leaf that is as inviting as its label. The blend is a masterpiece of balance featuring flavors that are both sweet and spicy. The flavor delivery is luxurious and smooth with notes of cream, earth, and cedar along with hints of berries, cinnamon, and sugar. These wonderful cigars are a testament to the skills of the Joya de Nicaragua team and their craft.
