There’s something exciting about watching a young cigar company hustle. They’ve got the vision and the drive; they usually have some angle to work; and hopefully they have the tobaccos and cigars to back it all up. Luckily for Reinier Lorenzo he did. In 2011 he founded HVC as a way of paying homage to Havana City where he lived for most of his life. He was inspired by his upbringing to keep the Cuban tradition of hand-made cigars alive and well. His focus is mainly on outstanding, small-crop Nicaraguan tobaccos that remind him of home. Each cigar in the HVC portfolio is a unique experience that in some way or another pays homage to his hometown. We jumped on the HVC band wagon early on, and it has been a pleasure to watch this outstanding upstart company gain traction and attention.

A Nicaraguan puro using tobacco only from the Jalapa region of Nicaragua. The La Rosa 520 name pays tribute to HVC founder Reinier Lorenzo’s old home in Cuba. La Rosa 520 is his address and as such the boxes read: Special Delivery From: La Rosa 520 Havana City 10400.
