Henry Clay War Hawk Toro (6x50 / 5 Pack)

95 Points. #10 Cigar of 2020. Smooth Connecticut elegance meets unexpected strength. Henry Clay War Hawk is a bold, award-winning cigar that refuses to play by the rules.

The Henry Clay War Hawk takes its name from one of American history’s most outspoken political figures, Henry Clay, whose fierce determination and advocacy surrounding the War of 1812 earned him and his supporters the nickname "War Hawks." Inspired by that fearless reputation, this distinguished release brings a spirited new personality to the historic Henry Clay cigar portfolio.

Breaking from the darker Connecticut Broadleaf wrappers traditionally associated with Henry Clay, War Hawk introduces a beautiful Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper that delivers an inviting appearance while concealing a surprisingly robust smoking experience.

Beneath that silky wrapper lies a rich Broadleaf binder surrounding carefully selected Honduran long-filler tobaccos. The combination produces a cigar that challenges expectations, blending the smooth refinement of Connecticut Shade with the earthy richness, spice, and strength of its heartier interior.

From the opening draw, expect a lively combination of cedar, earth, cocoa, citrus, and warm spice, complemented by intriguing notes of nutmeg and rich tobacco. The flavors develop with impressive depth, delivering a beautifully balanced experience that starts with approachable smoothness before revealing a surprisingly powerful personality.

What makes War Hawk particularly remarkable is its ability to deliver the elegance associated with a Connecticut-wrapped cigar without sacrificing intensity or complexity. The result is a vibrant, satisfying smoke that appeals to Connecticut enthusiasts looking for more character and experienced smokers who appreciate strength with refinement.

Its exceptional quality has earned some of the industry's most prestigious recognition. Henry Clay War Hawk received an outstanding 95-point rating and was named the #10 Cigar of 2020 by Cigar Aficionado, earning praise for its bright citrus, spice, and nutmeg character, along with an unexpected strength that catches even seasoned smokers by surprise.

Building on the success of the acclaimed Henry Clay Stalk Cut, War Hawk demonstrates the versatility of the Henry Clay portfolio while establishing an award-winning identity all its own.

For longtime Henry Clay enthusiasts, Connecticut Shade fans, or smokers searching for a highly rated cigar that delivers sophistication with an unmistakable edge, Henry Clay War Hawk deserves a permanent place in the humidor.
