Steeped in legend and history, the Gurkha Cigar originally created more than a century ago, was reborn in 1992. They were known for their meticulously and artisanally handcrafted cigars, and when the brand was revived, they carried those same ideals into the packaging. These new cigars would create what was one of the world’s first super premium cigars. Elegance and luxury are the new hallmarks for the Gurkha brand. Each blend to bear the name is exceptionally crafted using the finest tobaccos and packaged with care using the finest quality packaging in the industry. Their beautiful looking cigars and packaging draw you in, but it’s the flavors and quality of the tobacco that keeps you coming back for more.

All hat, and no cattle is a saying that refers to someone who is all talk with no action, power, or substance behind his/her words. For a long time, that’s the way many people would think of the Gurkha brand of products. That all changed in early 2019 when Jim Colluci joined the team and started to shake things up. He revamped the organizational structure of the company and began working on some new products. One of those new products was the Gurkha Nicaragua Series, and it’s made by Aganorsa Leaf. It’s made with a blend of Nicaragua Corojo and Criollo filler tobaccos, a Nicaraguan Corojo binder, and a special Nicaraguan Corojo ‘99 wrapper. While the blend may seem one dimensional on paper, it’s a tremendous medium-strength cigar with lots of good flavors. Tasting notes include vanilla, woods, and doughy breads with hints of pepper, honey, and leather. The Gurkha Nicaragua Series is a great cigar and will definitely have you reevaluating your take on the brand.
