On one hand you can count the number of cigar makers who arrived on the scene and changed the game. At the top of that very short list is Jose “Pepin” Garcia, and boy did he turn the industry on its ear. At the time, there was no one making cigars that captured the essence and flavor of Cuban cigars. His unique fermenting and blending style coupled with his small batch production in Miami quickly catapulted his cigars to the top of aficionados’ hit lists. With his well-deserved success, expansion was the only way to keep up with demand. He quickly established the My Father factory in Nicaragua and began to transfer production and expand his portfolio.

The Don Pepin Garcia Original Blue Label is the blend that put Pepin Garcia on the map. He’s had quite a ride since this blockbuster blend debuted, but since the beginning, this particular blend has been made right here in the USA. These days, most of his expansive My Father portfolio is made in their Nicaraguan factory, so it’s refreshing that he’s still committed to crafting cigars in Florida. Garcia skillfully blended aged and specially fermented Nicaraguan tobaccos for the filler, binder, and wrapper. What those tobaccos are exactly are a bit of a mystery, but we do know the wrapper is a Corojo varietal. Tasting notes include flavors of earth, cocoa, and pepper with hints of toasted breads, leather, and coffee. This classic blend continues to perform and deliver a highly pleasurable experience.
