Eduardo Fernandez, Owner of Aganorsa Leaf and Casa Fernandez, has a philosophy that guides his business endeavors: “First you crawl, then you walk, and then you run. It’s a process you can’t skip or else it comes back to haunt you.” 35 years ago he created the Casa Fernandez brand. In 1998 he established Aganorsa tobacco in Nicaragua with a dream of growing some of the world’s finest tobaccos and becoming a vertically integrated manufacturer. He spent the next 15 years in pursuit of that goal and achieved it.

When you see the word “Lunatic” on a cigar label, most people would assume that the cigar is the equivalent of eating a ghost pepper. Thankfully, that’s not the case with this cigar! The Lunatic Torch cigars feature a shaggy or unfinished foot to showcase the Lunatic Torch’s Nicaraguan grown Corojo tobacco filler tobaccos. It’s kind of a gimmick, but in this case, the tobaccos have great flavor. About a half inch in, the filler meets the wrapper leaf and things change. Using a reddish-brown Corojo ’99 wrapper grown by Aganorsa in Jalapa, Nicaragua, this super thick cigar is smooth, well-balanced, and thick. It helps keep the cigar burning cool and enjoyable. Tasting notes include cedar, roasted nuts, and pepper with hints of honey and other spices. Lovers of large ring gauge cigars will enjoy this!
