RoMa Craft is a relatively new cigar company on the scene, having launched less than a decade ago in 2012. RoMa is the brainchild of longtime friends Mike Rosales (RO) and Skip Martin (MA) with the goal of creating craft-made cigars that were a cut above. They operate on a simple philosophy: combine quality tobacco, experienced craftsmen, and the right amount of time, and you will produce great cigars. Never compromise in these areas and you will be able to produce great cigars consistently. To this end, they only produce 1.2 million cigars per year. It’s a level that allows them to follow their guiding principles, and it has served them well in their short time in the industry. Their cigars are the darlings of the boutique cigar community and they have earned RoMa Craft accolades and recognition as a maker of outstanding cigars.

The RoMa Craft Intemperance Whiskey Rebellion 1794 (It’s a mouthful, we know) derives its name from a protest over the taxes on whiskey by the U.S. government, the first time a domestic product had been taxed by the federal government. The protest lasted from 1791-1794 and ultimately ended when President George Washington rode to Pennsylvania to enforce the new law. Whiskey Rebellion uses a blend of Dominican and Nicaraguan filler tobaccos, a seldom used Indonesian Besuki binder leaf, and a gorgeous Ecuadorian Habano Maduro wrapper. These cigars feature bold tasting notes of leather, earth, and espresso along with hints of caramel, cocoa, and cedar. These excellent cigars will have you in the fighting spirit in no time!
