While most blends that bear the “Hoyo” mark tend to be full flavored and full strength blends, the Excalibur series was envisioned to showcase the brand's more mature characteristics, namely an incredibly smooth and well-balanced flavor profile that never overpowers. They accomplish this feat by selecting more premium tobaccos and by aging them longer. The blenders selected Dominican, Honduran, and Nicaraguan tobaccos for the filler core, a Connecticut Broadleaf binder, and topped it with a gorgeous USA Connecticut Shade wrapper leaf. The resulting blend is medium in strength but generous in flavor. Tasting notes include flavors of natural tobacco, earth, cedar, and cocoa along with hints of citrus, baking spices, and cream.
