DBL is not a common household name in the premium cigar industry, but it’s a brand that should certainly be on your radar. DBL stands for “Dominican Big Leaguer” and was founded by baseball nut Francisco Almonte (hence the name), and he has literally been working with tobacco since he was a kid at age 7. At this young age, he worked to devein tobacco for his father, and by age 12 he was rolling cigars. But there’s more to Almonte’s story. He had the unique privilege of studying and learning the ins & outs of cigar making and blending from none other than Carlos Fuente and Lito Gomez. With a pedigree like that, Francisco and DBL have some big shoes to fill. And in our opinion, they deliver.

The Derrame III is the threequel in a limited edition series of delectable cigars with mouthwatering flavors and aromatic aromas. Similar to its predecessors, the Derrame III uses super premium, hand-selected tobaccos from highly respected growers. The silky, oily maduro wrapper is a stunning sun grown leaf from the San Andres Valley of Mexico. Its binder, from Ecuador, envelopes an extensively aged, proprietary Dominican filler blend that provides a rich and complex smoking experience. Staying true to its original concept, the Derrame III is once again presented in a breathtaking custom humidor equipped with a lock and key, humidifying device, hygrometer, cutter and lighter ($200 value). Each box contains 40 box-pressed cigars and nine round cigars. Production is limited to 500 boxes.
