In a nutshell, Steve Saka, CEO of Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust makes the best boutique cigars in the world. Go to any cigar shop in America, and more often then not, the sales clerk behind the counter will have a Saka blend in his hand. Just a heads up, these cigars aren't mild, and aren't for newbies. Grab a box of these all-new limited edition releases from Saka before they sell out for good.
First released as a limited-edition retailer exclusive, the elusive Mi Querida Black cigar made its official debut in 2022, with Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust dubbing the cigar Mi Querida Black SakaKhan. A spinoff of the company's beloved Mi Querida line, the cigar was rolled in a MASSIVE 7¼" x 54 size, with the "SakaKhan" name referencing one of Steve Saka's (owner/founder of Dunbarton) nicknames during his time in the Navy in the 1980s.
Fast forward one year and it is now clear that the Mi Querida Black is not a one-off release, as the larger-than-life original is now joined by smaller sibling Mi Querida Black PapaSaka. Like the original, the PapaSaka takes its name from another Saka nickname over the years. However, the cigar has been rolled in a more connoisseur-geared 5.63 x 48 corona gorda.
The Dunbarton Mi Querida Black PapaSaka makes use of the line's signature Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, being secured over a Mexican San Andrés negro binder and fillers from the DR, Honduras, and Nicaragua. This is a dark, flavorful, and supremely balanced concoction, offering concentrated flavor to the palate, with standout complexities of earth, black pepper, dark chocolate, and bittersweet espresso that lingers on the palate long after the smoke has settled.
