The name stems from Nicaraguan slang, with 'triqui traca' being massive firecrackers that are interconnected and strung out up to multiple blocks in length. These explosives are lit at one end, cascading with blistering light and sound throughout the city—a tradition that is performed on special holidays in Estelí and other parts of Nicaragua.
Mi Querida Triqui Traca begins with the same earthy core recipe as the standard Mi Querida. But the cigars are stripped of their traditional Broadleaf wrapper, being replaced with a higher-priming (and more rare) Connecticut Broadleaf No. 1 Dark corona variety. In addition, a powerful Dominican ligero leaf has been added to the cigar's filler recipe. The resulting cigar offers a familiar experience for fans of the Mi Querida brand, boosting the blend to medium-plus-plus in intensity. Flavors are thick and earthy, offering notes of sweet (and bitter) chocolate, black pepper, cinnamon, black licorice, and a wasabi-like zing through the nostrils.
