A little over 10 years ago we acquired the Purofino brand from our dear friend Roger Ralphs (Dr. Puro). With his assistance we moved production of the Purofnio brand from Honduras to the Dominican Republic and began blending an all new Purofino with Dominican Cigar master Hendrik Kelner. The tremendous blend that Mr. Kelner created was ready to go into production when disaster struck and altered our course. A small fire destroyed the tobaccos set aside for this blend. So, we developed an alternate blend and moved forward with production. The Purofino Milenio Anno 1995 Blue label became a huge success. Fast forward to February 2007. To our surprise, we received a call from our friends in the D.R. indicating that they had grown a very small batch of special tobacco that would allow us to create a mere 3000 cigars in our original blend. They sent us some samples, and after smoking a few, we knew this was a very special cigar. The Purofino Small Batch Limited Edition has been aged for over 1 year in cedar chests. It contains a blend of Domincan Ligero for the filler, a Dominican binder, and an Equadorian shade-grown wrapper. Purofino Small Batch is Medium plus in strength with a full body like a great Cabernet. Rich flavors of cedar and spice with subtle notes of leather and honey make the Purofino Small Batch Limited Edition a cigar that only comes around once a decade!
